Lattice Cable Cowl

If you are looking for a quick-to-knit gift for someone, the Gina Chunky Lattice Cable Cowl is the perfect piece.  It is a free Ravelry download from the Plymouth Yarn Design Studio.  You use one skein of Plymouth Yarn's Gina Chunky which is only 131 yards and size 10.5 needles.  The colors of this yarn are amazing. This one is colorway 107 Gaelic.

It's a simple design that has enough going on to keep you interested, but easy enough for any beginner to try. 

 Typically when I teach a new knitter how to knit, I will have them work on a flat scarf in bulky yarn.  I think this may be the perfect first project for that new knitter that wants to learn how to knit in the round and how to knit cables.
